Tip from The Ultimate Wreath Book:
It's not difficult to dry whole citrus fruits.
Select unblemished fruit that feels solid but not overly juicy, rather than the best citrus for eating.
With a sharp knife slice through the rind and barely cut into the flesh. Make five to eight cuts from top to bottom:make more cuts in larger fruit. Stop just short of the top and bottom points so you don't slice completely through the citrus.
Place on a piece of screening or cookie rack in a very warm, dry dark spot until dry. Or try a 150 degree oven for about twelve hours, more or less depending on the size of the fruit and the number you're trying to dry.
